Blackstone completed a Major Overhaul of a GE SNC 1-3 steam turbine. This included working with 2 technical representatives as part of a larger outage in which Blackstone had over 80 people on site including QA/QC, Safety and Project Management.

• Complete “as found” alignment
• Complete “as found” measurements (thrust check, DBSE, DBFF)
• Remove split line bolting and upper casing (stone and inspect casing)
• Remove and inspect linkage, and valve components
• Remove HP carrier and nozzle block
• Remove steam chest and carrier
• Remove bearing housings and inspect bearings
• Measure and record critical measurements (seal clearances, running position, hub measurements, bearing fits, nozzle block fit)
• Install new rotor and record critical measurements: Journals; Rotor Mapping (axial clearances from stationary to rotating elements and radial clearances).
• Reinstall removed components (nozzle block, seal carriers, seals, bearings) and record “as left” measurements
• Reinstall turbine casing and split line
• Complete “as left” measurements (thrust check, DBSE, DBFF)
• Complete “as left” alignment and monitor pipe strain

• Peace of mind knowing that their turbine would run flawlessly until the next maintenance overhaul
• Customer received a comprehensive Technical Report outlining all of the “as found” and “as left” measurements and condition of the turbine
