Blackstone completed a minor overhaul of a Turbodyne UE-18479 steam turbine (the driver of the train). This task was part of a larger outage, which included the same crew completing a major overhaul on a Dresser Clark 74-5B vertically split centrifugal compressor (the driven machine in the train).

• Complete “as found” alignment
• Complete “as found” measurements (lift checks, axial float, oil baffle clearances, etc.)
• Complete Drive End and Non-Drive End bearing inspections and record clearances (replaced NDE bearing due to damage)
• Reassemble turbine and complete “as left” measurements (lift checks, axial float, oil baffle clearances, etc.)
• Remove and disassemble governor linkage for modification
• Replace cam follower bearings
• Rebuild and reinstall power cylinders
• Record “as left” cam follower gaps and trip paddle clearance
• Adjust turbine linkage system

• Peace of mind knowing that their turbine would run flawlessly until the next maintenance overhaul
• Customer received a comprehensive Technical Report outlining all of the “as found” and “as left” measurements and condition of the turbine
